Jeremy Lin NBA News: On Brooklyn Net's Point Guard, His Popularity, and His Random Act of Kindness

The National Basketball Association (NBA) star Jeremy Shu-How Lin has been slowly gaining worldwide popularity. Recent reports have revealed that the Brooklyn Nets point guard ranks just below Kobe Bryant and Stephen Curry in popularity in China. Furthermore, his teammates and coaches also have a few things to say about Lin and his reputation on the team.

The ranking that revealed Lin's popularity came from an annual report released by a digital sports marketing company in China called Mailman. The data was collected from the statistics based on the players' Weibo accounts as well as how many times people searched for them on Baidu, which is the Chinese equivalent of Google. Bryant topped the list with 119 points, while Curry was a close second at 103. Lin gained 99 points, which landed him in the third spot.

The report also ranked the popularity of the teams. Unfortunately, the Brooklyn Nets did not make it to the top five. However, Lin's previous teams, the Warriors, Rockets, and Lakers, did get into the ranking. Fans were thrilled to hear the news and many gave Lin their congratulations.

Meanwhile, Lin is popular in the Brooklyn Nets for a different reason. Recently, it was revealed that the point guard would welcome new teammates and coaches by buying them a well-tailored suit.

"Dang, this is not supposed to be public information. I did it last year as well," Lin told NetsDaily at Media Day. "It's just something that, especially the rookies, 'Let's get them a nice, fresh suit going into the season so they can have one.' It's cool because this (tailor) is a guy I know and trust from my time in Houston. He does a great job, and he can custom the inside with pictures, so if you want pictures of your family, significant dates, you can create the inside of your jacket however you want."

Although it had been meant as a secret, it warmed the hearts of fans who lauded him for his kind actions.
