Jeremy Lin News: Starting Anew in Charlotte, Is This His Final Shot at Redemption?
One of the most followed NBA stars in recent memory is Jeremy Lin, who became popular for his cinderella journey at the top of the league several years ago.
The short-lived phenomenon was known as "Linsanity," and it lasted for a few months during Lin's stint with the New York Knicks. His gameplay salvaged the team's hopes to enter the playoffs that season.
Unfortunately, after his memorable moments with New York, Lin's star has begun to wane, particularly during his stay with the Houston Rockets. Most of his critics say that Lin can only play great on a particular type of offense with the ball in his hands. That did not happen in Houston, and so his fans were very happy that he was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers last off-season.

But just like what he experienced with the Rockets, the Lakers' backcourt was crowded by then-point guard Steve Nash, Kobe Bryant, and a few other guards on rotation. Lin trained as a backup point guard only to be pushed to the starting position after Nash suffered another season-ending injury, which pushed the latter to his retirement.
Things did not go well for Lin, and at times, his own coach, LA coach Byron Scott, doubted what he can do on the court.
This off-season, Lin was acquired by the Charlotte Hornets, which was a little surprising since it was reported that Lin wants to reunite with former Rockets teammate Chandler Parsons in Dallas.
Fortunately for Lin, it seems the Hornets are in great shape to be competitive this season with new young guns in Nicolas Batum and Jeremy Lamb. Other acquisitions include Spencer Hawes and Frank Kaminsky.
It will be another fresh start for Lin, who will be approaching his prime in the next couple years. However, time is running out on him, and he needs to prove that he is indeed capable of thriving in the NBA.
