Jeremy Lin vs. Iman Shumpert [POLL]: Brooklyn Nets Point Guard Dances in Quirky Taiwanese Pop Music Video, Cleveland Cavaliers Shooting Guard Appears in Kanye West's 'Fade'
NBA stars Jeremy Lin and Iman Shumpert both showcased their other side this offseason by making a cameo in music videos. The Brooklyn Nets point guard appeared in a delightfully wacky Taiwanese pop music video, while the Cleveland Cavaliers shooting guard starred in Kanye West's "Fade."
Lin's Turkish Ice Cream
Last week, Taiwanese pop star Jay Chou dropped his newest music video featuring Lin. The upbeat and quirky music video showed the 28-year-old point guard hanging out with Chou throughout the whole song, which is about "Turkish Ice Cream." It also showcased the NBA star playing the piano and unleashing some dance moves.
Lin's appearance in the music video is not anymore surprising given the fact that he has always been vocal about being proud of his Taiwanese and Chinese heritage. He remained one of the most popular NBA players internationally despite some lackluster seasons in the league. In the past years, he also released a number of videos through his YouTube channel to reach out to his global fans.
Ananth Pandian of CBS Sports commented that the quirky pop music video is fairly amusing and Lin apparently shines in it. He added that his acting would have been much more entertaining if he sported his recent braided hair.
Shumpert Bares All
Per Sports Illustrated, Shumpert surprised basketball fans on Sunday after he appeared naked in a Yeezy music video at the MTV's 2016 Video Music Awards. West debuted the music video of "Fade" at the event. It is the third single of his newest album "The Life of Pablo."
The entire music video showed Shumpert's fiancée Teyana Taylor dancing in an empty gym. At the end of the song, the 26-year-old shooting guard appeared wearing no clothes and taking a shower with Taylor. The video ended with the couple and their daughter sharing some moments back in the gym.
According to Bill DiFilippo of Uproxx, Shumpert's appearance in the music video made the internet to freak out. Most Twitter users believe that it was unlikely for Shumpert to actually appear naked in a music video.
Dan Devine commented that Shumpert's appearance drew some amount of respectful applause from those who have watched at home. He added that it seems like the basketball star had a fun summer vacation.
Unfortunately, the music video is not on YouTube. Fans who want to see Shumpert's cameo must sign up to Tidal.
