'Jessica Jones' News, Update: Premiere Announcement Trailer Released; Star Krysten Ritter Teases Romantic Link With Luke Cage

Not much has been heard about Netflix's upcoming Marvel superhero drama series "Jessica Jones" apart from casting announcements and plot spoilers. But on Thursday, Marvel released an official premiere date announcement teaser for the show which is slated to feature the acts of Krysten Ritter as the titular character.

Although the video (which readers can check below), is devoid of actual footage, it does however revealed a handful of hints and glimpses as to what the series will be about. For one, there's the road signs of the Birch Street and the Higgins Drive, a moving camera aperture, a whiskey glass getting turned over and a door to an office with the name "Alias Investigations" written on it. The clip also featured briefly the recognizable mast of the Avengers Tower in New York as well as lots and lots of broken glasses.

Further divulged in the video is the official premiere date of the show which is November 20 of this year.

Meanwhile, earlier reports from Screen Rant pointed out to the rumors saying that Jessica Jones might share a close narrative universe with the hero in Netflix's 2016 offering, "Luke Cage." Some speculations in fact even said that the two could be romantically linked with each other.

As it turns out, this could really be the case.

The "Breaking Bad" star recently sat down on the This Week In Marvel podcast and during this time, Ritter spoke on some of her experiences while doing the Melissa Rosenberg-written show.

The 33-year-old's succeeding statements meanwhile, further confirmed the Jessica-Luke romance rumors.

"At the end of the day, I also knew Mike [Colter] had my back. Whether we were doing stunts together, or love-making scenes, which I'm not very comfortable with (via SR)."

For the uninitiated, "Jessica Jones" follows the life of the Jessica after "the tragic end of her short-lived stint as a superhero." Viewers will find the character working as a private detective who specializes in cases involving people with extraordinary abilities.
