'Jessica Jones' Season 2 News: Krysten Ritter Teases Upcoming Season and 'The Defenders'

The upcoming season of Marvel's hit Netflix series "Jessica Jones" will be joined by new additions to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Fans of "Jessica Jones" have been waiting to hear more about the upcoming season of the series, after Marvel presented a dark approach to one of its interesting superheroes. Krysten Ritter took on the role of Jessica Jones, a retired superhero who decided to open her own private investigation firm.
The series presented a new kind of superhero, in comparison to the superheroes present in the Marvel Cinematic Universe such as Captain America or Iron Man. With that, it was teased that the presence of Jessica Jones will usher in a new set of superheroes that will expand the MCU.

According to IGN, Ritter recently confirmed the matter, giving updates on the production of the upcoming Marvel series. She explained that "Jessica Jones" Season 2 and "The Defenders" will be filmed back-to-back. Because of this, fans can expect to meet some new characters in Hell's Kitchen.
"The Defenders" will focus on a group of superheroes, which include Jones, Luke Cage, Daredevil, and Iron First. This has caused several speculations that "Jessica Jones" could overlap with "The Defenders."
However, Ritter stated that she was not sure if that will happen. She did say that she is currently doing some strength and weight training in order to prepare for the role. The actress also gave some hints about the upcoming "Luke Cage" series.
She said, "Marvel have this grand plan. Luke Cage will come out, then Iron Fist. In terms of scheduling I don't know how it will all come out and I can't even tell you if I've filmed Luke Cage. But I'm excited for Mike to have his own show. I know the tone of that show is going to be very different. We couldn't expose a lot of Luke's back story because he was getting his own show, so we explored him through Jessica's point of view."
There has yet to be any details regarding the release date of "Jessica Jones" season 2.
