'Jessica Jones' Season 2 Spoilers: Luke Ready to Pursue Jessica Again?

Luke Cage (Mike Colter) may return to continue his disrupted romance with Jessica (Krysten Ritter) in the upcoming season of "Jessica Jones."

According to recent spoilers, there is a good chance that Luke will return in the new installment. Viewers can remember that he and Jessica were romantically involved until he learned that she was the one who killed his wife. Reva (Parisa Fitz-Henley) was actually murdered by Kilgrave (David Tennant). His mind control powers allowed him to influence Jessica to do the deed for him. Jessica revealed the truth to Luke because her guilt was consuming her. Luke took it badly, but he later realized that Jessica could not have stood a chance against Kilgrave's powers.

In September last year, showrunner Melissa Rosenberg talked about the Luke-Jessica romance. According to her, the show has never been about their love story. Luke was someone they needed to bring to light Jessica's character in the series. His backstory was revealed because it was necessary to explain why the heroine had so many emotional baggage.

Although the EP did not reveal if Luke would appear in season 2, she did hint that it was possible. Rosenberg said she and "Luke Cage" showrunner Cheo Hodari Coker have yet to discuss about it.

"I also have, in my second season, one of the writers on Luke Cage, so in terms of moving forward with what has happened in Luke's story, with season two — not that that's as relevant to Jessica's story this season. But it's all connected, and it's all very important. So Cheo and I haven't had a lot of face time, but we've passed each other in this," Rosenberg told The Hollywood Reporter.

Meanwhile, the fans will first see Jessica and Luke, together with their other buddies Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox, aka Daredevil) and Danny Rand (Finn Jones), in "The Defenders," which is scheduled to air this year. "Jessica Jones" season 2, on the other hand, is expected to return in 2018.
