JetBlue Free Flights: How to Get Your Flight Ticket
JetBlue is offering 2,012 free flights for flyers who want to leave the country if their presidential candidate loses. The airline said Wednesday it will give away round-trip tickets to 1,006 people to board a plane to Mexico, the Caribbean, or other international destinations if their pick, President Barack Obama or Republican nominee Mitt Romney, fails to win the Election.
To qualify for a chance to win, you can visit the JetBlue Election Protection promotional website (www.jetblueelectionprotection.com/) and take the poll of which candidate you will vote for.
According to the JetBlue poll, Obama is leading 56 percent to 44 percent.
In a statement, an executive of the New York airline said the promotion is fun way to encourage people to exercise their freedom to vote.
"Fun is one of our five founding values, and in this spirit we decided to give people a chance to recover from the political noise and follow through on their claim to skip town if their candidate comes up short," said JetBlue marketing executive Marty St. George in a statement.
"We want to highlight the freedom we have as Americans to exercise our right to vote and encourage everyone to do their part on November 6. Live Free or Fly!"
The poll also asks customers to choose their intended destination if they win the round-trip ticket. So far the majority of respondents have selected the Bahamas. Other destination choices include Mexico, Grand Cayman, Jamaica, Turks & Caicos, Dominican Republic, St. Maarten, St. Lucia, Barbados, Aruba, Colombia and Costa Rica.
The free flight giveaway does not include taxes or coverage for any other travel expenses. The promotion will end on November 5, 2012 at 11:59 p.m. ET.
