'Suicide Squad' Movie Cast News: Jim Parrack Rumored to Play Deathstroke

American actor Jim Parrack may have signed on to step into Deathstroke's shoes in the DC Comics movie adaptation of "Suicide Squad."

Despite Joe Manganiello having been eyed to play Deathstroke the Terminator in "Suicide Squad," Warner Bros. may have gone for a younger actor after rumors surfaced "True Blood" star, Jim Parrack has been chosen for the role of the DC Comics supervillain.

34-year-old Parrack, who currently stars in a Broadway adaptation of John Steinbeck's "Of Mice and Men," has teased his involvement in the movie on his Twitter account, posting an image of what appears to be cover art of Deathstroke's face from "Batman: Arkham Origins," but with a seemingly unrelated caption about French electronic band Daft Punk.

According to Movie Pilot, Parrack may be playing an early incarnation of the character who still has both of his eyes intact. The site also speculated on reports Deathstroke will single-handedly take down the members of the Suicide Squad during their first encounter in the movie.

While Warner Bros. has yet to confirm Parrack's role as Deathstroke, it is definite he will be performing in the movie after director David Ayer posed the first cast photo on Twitter, cementing rumors Parrack will be in the film.

"Suicide Squad," bearing its current working title "Bravo 14," started filming Tuesday with an all-star cast that includes Will Smith, Jared Leto, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney, Margot Robbie, Cara Delevigne, Adewale Akinnouoye-Agbaje, Joel Kinnaman, Raymond Olubowale, Karen Fukuhara, Adam Beach, and Scott Eastwood.

The movie is scheduled to hit U.S. theaters on August 5, 2016.
