John Cena Tapped to Host Fox's New Military-Themed Reality Show
WWE has announced professional wrestler John Cena will be hosting a new military-themed reality show titled "American Grit" for Fox.
Following rumors that surfaced last month that pro wrestler, actor, and rapper, John Cena, would be taking some time off from WWE to begin filming for a "fitness" reality series Fox is preparing to release, it was announced the 15-time world champion would be hosting "American Grit" for the network.
"American Grit," geared as a 10-episode competition, will showcase 16 contestants who will be split into four teams to work together to face a number of military and survival challenges.

The competitors will be composed of some of the country's toughest individuals, with the show delving into the training, perseverance and resolve that goes into molding the men and women of the U.S. Military.
The competition is reportedly going be fierce and challenging, with Cena acting as the host and motivational force behind the contestants. The wrestler, who has over 30 million followers on his social media accounts, will be acting as the contestants' inspiration.
The "American Grit" teams will be mentored by members of the military, known as "The Cadre," who, together with Cena, will be pushing and encouraging the civilian contestants through the various challenges.
Each of the 10 episodes will be topped by "The Circus," an obstacle course designed to test the endurance of each of the four teams.
"The Cadre" will be composed of Nick Irving, a US Army Ranger sniper; Tawanda "Tee" Hanible, a US Marine Gunnery Sergeant veteran; Noah Galloway, a US Army vet and Purple Heart recipient, and Rorke Denver, a Navy SEAL trainer.
With a $1 million prize pot for the winning team, "American Grit" will focus on the military saying, "no man left behind," with the first team to complete a challenge is deemed safe from elimination.
"American Grit" is expected to air on Fox sometime in 2016.
