'John Wick 2' Movie Update: Ruby Rose Of Orange Is The New Black Join Sequel's Cast

News has emerged "Orange is the New Black" inmate Ruby Rose will be joining the cast of the upcoming sequel, "John Wick 2."

Australian actress and breakout star Ruby Rose, who plays inmate Stella Carlin in the Neflix black comedy series, "Orange is the New Black," has just signed on for a role in the Keanu Reeves-starrer film, "John Wick 2," together with Peter Stormare, who will be playing one of the villains in the sequel.

Production has already begun and "John Wick 2" is currently filming on location in New York's Chinatown. Rose, who has begun to make inroads into action films, was recently spotted in Cape Town, Africa where she has been filming scenes for her role in "Resident Evil: The Final Chapter."

Swedish actor Peter Stormare, more popularly known for his antagonist roles in "Fargo," "Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters," and "22 Jump Street," will be playing a villain in the film, together with Common, who has taken the role of head of security for a crime lord's organization.

With news emerging the crime lord will be a female character, speculations are rife Rose will be playing the ultimate villain in the long-awaited sequel.

New locations have been set for filming, apart from New York, where the original film was predominently shot. While the first movie was more character-centered, focusing on John Wick's story in its primary setting, the second movie will have a change in scenery, with a new location in Rome, Italy.

Ian McShane, who was cast in the first film as the owner of the Continental Hotel, will make his reappearance, toether with Bridget Moynahan, who will be appearing in several flashback scenes and dream sequences as John Wick's dead wife. Lance Reddick, who played the Continental Hotel's unflappable concierge, and John Leguizamo as the chop shop owner, will also make return appearances.

While the plot of the sequel has been kept under wraps so far, directing team, David Leitch and Chad Stahelski are looking to surprise audiences with another hit based on Derek Kolstad's screenplay.

There is as yet no announcement of the exact date "John Wick 2" wil be premiering in theaters, but audiences should expect it to hit the big screen sometime next year.
