Johnny Depp 'Hollywood Vampires' Band With Alice Cooper, Joe Perry
Johnny Depp is going back to his musician roots. The ctor has joined "shock" rocker Alice Cooper and Aerosmith's Joe Perry to form a new band called Hollywood Vampires. Alice Cooper had earlier made an announcement on Feb. 14 via Instagram.
Hollywood Vampires is said to be the name of Cooper's group of "musical drinking buddies" which included Keith Moon, Harry Nilsson, John Lennon and Ringo Starr, The Guardian reported.
This news comes just a month after he made clear his "revulsion" towards famous actors who go into music.

"That whole idea for me is a sickening thing … I hate the idea 'Come see me play because you've seen me in 12 movies.' You want the people who are listening to the music to be only interested in the music," Depp said.
The band already has its first official gig – at the Rock in Rio festival in September, together with other performers like System of a Down, Queens of the Stone Age and Faith No More. According to a report in Rolling Stone, the group has already recorded an album together.
This is not the first time that Johnny Depp has dabbled into music. He was part of a group called P which was formed in the 1990s. In between his movies and other projects, he has also performed with Alice Cooper in 2012, playing guitar at Cooper's Orpheum gig. He also "contributed background vocals for Aerosmith's Music from Another Dimension," according to Rolling Stone.
Cooper also had some good things to say about Depp.
"He is really a cool and talented guy. Johnny is a guy who doesn't have to do anything; he does things because he wants to do them. It's not about his ego," the rock star said.
