Josh Duhamel, Fergie Baby News: Couple 'Ready for Baby,' Duhamel Says

Josh Duhamel and Fergie are expecting their first child later this year, and Duhamel recently said that the couple is definitely ready for their little one to arrive.

"Everybody who's had a baby or knows somebody who's had a baby seems to have advice about something," Duhamel told ET Canada. "'Oh, you better sleep now; you're not going to get any when the baby's here.' 'Oh, your life is over after that.' 'Oh, it's the most beautiful thing ever, but oh, it's tough.'"

Duhamel and Fergie are both incredibly busy but are focused on taking care of their family and working hard to keep their relationship alive. Duhamel, who starred in "Transformers" said that he was ready to take some time off from the business in order to concentrate on his new little one.

"I plan on taking off as much time as I can just before and as much time as possible after. I can't imagine having a kid and then not being able to be there. That would just drive me crazy. My head would be at home with mom and baby," the father-to-be said.

Duhamel has been very participatory throughout Fergie's pregnancy.

"He's been amazing," Fergie told Us Weekly. "He's so nice and wonderful, and he sings and talks to my belly all the time. He's very complimentary. I'm very lucky that he is really good to me."

The couple met in 2004, when Fergie appeared on Duhamel's show "Las Vegas." They began dating and married in 2009 in Malibu, Calif. One year later, they renewed their wedding vows. Both are Catholic and practice their faith by regularly attending church.

"My wife and I like to go to church if we're in town," Duhamel told Parade magazine in 2010. "On Sundays, I try to be as chill as I can, whether I'm watching golf or barbecuing."

"If I am working," Duhamel told ET, "they can come with me, or if she is working, I can go with them. I can't see myself ever wanting to be away from my wife and kid."
