Judge William Adams Video Leads to Suspension for Savage Beating
The Judge William Adams video that caught him beating his daughter with a belt has now led to him being suspended with pay.
Adams will still not admit any wrongdoing with regards to the savage beating and on Tuesday the State Commission on Judicial Conduct suspended him.
"It is important to preserve the integrity of all judges in the State of Texas, to promote public confidence in the judiciary, and to encourage judges to maintain high standards of professional conduct," said Commission Chair Jorge Rangel.
The order highlights that Adams has accepted the suspension but still refuses to admit any "guilt, fault or wrongdoing.”
Earlier this month, Adams said the video was "not as bad as it seems."
“Yeah, that’s me...as you can see, my life’s been made very difficult over this child,” he added.
District attorneys had previously said they would not pursue criminal charges against the judge because too much time has passed since the incident. The beating was secretly taped in 2004 by his daughter who is seen striking him with a belt because she had downloading computer games against his orders.
