'Jumanji' Reboot Confirmed by Dwayne Johnson, Filming Start This Fall

There's good news for all the 90's kids who have loved the 1995 classic adventure fantasy film "Jumanji." After more than 20 years, the movie based on the 1981 children's book of the same name is going to get do over. According to a report by Design and Trend, it has been confirmed by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson that there will be a "Jumanji" reboot.

The Canadian actor revealed the news via his Instagram account wherein he revealed his excitement for the upcoming project. "It's official. We'll produce and deliver to a whole new generation a title that I love and is one of my all my time faves ... There's games you play for fun ... then there's games that change your life. JUMANJI Working on edging up an already very good script," Johnson wrote in his post that came with a photo of himself holding the script while standing next to his furry dog friend.

He also shared that he is working on the script together with Seven Bucks Productions, which is the company he founded. He will also be going on a meeting with director Jake Kasdan ("Bad Teacher") and producer Matt Tolmach ("The Amazing Spider-Man"). Shooting for the film will start this fall.

Variety also reported that the "Jumanji" reboot will be under Sony. And though there are no official details yet for the cast, sources say that The Rock will be starring in the film alongside comedian Kevin Hart. The schedule is being still arranged as both actors are jam-packed with other projects. There is no need to worry though because the film is moving forward.

Moreover, Entertainment Online noted that Johnson promised in his post to "not screw" the whole thing up. He said that they will be coming up with something "cool and special" and that is something that fans should be watching out for.

"Jumanji" reboot is expected to arrive sometime in 2017.
