'Jurassic World 2' Cast News, Updates: Director Shares First Photo from Film; Bryce Dallas Howard Talks Character
Fans recently got a small taste of "Jurassic World 2" when director J.A. Bayona took to his Twitter account to share the first photo from the movie. The yet-untitled film is set to hit theaters next year.
The photo sees a young girl standing in the middle of what looks to be a museum. She is facing a skeletal display of a triceratops while four others surround it. It is unknown who the little girl is, or how she figures into the equation. It also remains to be seen if she plays a pivotal role in the upcoming film.
Production for the sequel has already begun. Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are both back to reprise their roles as Owen Grady and Claire Dearing, respectively. Howard has been taking to social media to share daily updates while on set, including sharing a photo with the film's producer, Frank Marshall.
And in a recent Q&A session with her fans through Twitter, Howard teased what the upcoming movie will be like. Asked by the Daily Mail's Andrew Bullock, Howard revealed little about "Jurassic World 2," but it was definitely enough to heighten the excitement in fans.
Earlier this month, Howard spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about her character in the upcoming film. "Making a Jurassic film is challenging, exhilarating and most importantly fun," she said.
She was also asked whether Claire would be donning high heels again for the next film. It can be recalled that her character wore the fashionable shoes in "Jurassic World" and even had to run everywhere in them--including while sprinting away from a T-Rex.
"No matter the footwear, Claire is a woman who gets things done. I'm so excited to be doing it a second time," Howard continued, according to THR. "Plus Chris Pratt is here every day doing his spontaneous dance parties — what's better than that?"
"Jurassic World 2" will premiere in U.S. theaters on June 22, 2018.
