'Jurassic World 2' Spoilers: 'Silence of the Lambs' Icon Joins Cast
The highly anticipated dinosaur sequel, "Jurassic World 2," officially adds "Silence of the Lambs" actor Ted Levine to its growing cast.
There is no information yet on the role he will play in the film, but his addition without doubt boosts the star power that make up the much-awaited follow-up.
Levine joins his fellow "Jurassic World 2" recruits Rafe Spall from "Prometheus," Toby Jones, who viewers recently watched perform some serious villainy in "Sherlock," Justice Smith from "The Get Down" and Daniella Pineda, who will play the second female lead.
Production for the movie is expected to begin sometime soon. Director Juan Antonio Bayona teased the beginning of the "journey" on his Twitter.
He also recently revealed in an interview with a Spanish magazine called Magazine Digital (via Jurassic Outpost) that the main filming location is Brecon Beacons in Wales.
Details on the plot of "Jurassic World 2" are being kept under wraps. However, fans can expect the film to have more terrifying elements than the first one as Bayona will put to use his experience in the horror genre.
Bayona is known for his work in the critically acclaimed 2007 Spanish horror film, "The Orphanage," which marked his directing debut.
Colin Trevorrow, who directed the first film and co-wrote the script for "Jurassic World 2," teased to Entertainment Weekly that the sequel will be "more suspenseful and scary."
With regard to the story, Trevorrow revealed to El Mundo (translated by Time) that it will be "a parable of the treatment animals receive today: the abuse, medical experimentation, pets, having wild animals in zoos like prisons, the use the military has made of them, animals as weapons."
Bryce Howard Dallas, who will reprise her role in "Jurassic World 2" along with Chris Pratt, revealed to JoBlo last month that the film "leads the story to a place that we've never seen before."
The first "Jurassic World" film (the fourth one in the franchise) went on to become the second-highest-grossing film of 2015.
"Jurassic World 2" will be released on June 22, 2018.
