'Just Because!' Episode 3 Spoilers: Can Love and Friendship Co-Exist in the Midst of Conflicting Feelings?
Even before the third semester begins, Eita Izumi is already making friends on the Japanese slice-of-life anime series, "Just Because!" But now that old bonds have been rekindled, can the secret that he and Mio Natsume have been keeping for years stay a secret for long?
It seems that Eita does know Mio and may even have special feelings for the girl he knew from middle school. However, this week's episode may have also just revealed that Mio has had feelings for Eita's closest friend, Haruto Souma, for just as long.
But the thing is, it is only Eita who knows about Mio's feelings, while Haruto seems to have had the impression that Eita is attracted to Mio. He swore it was Eita himself who told him, which Eita denied.
As things stand now, it seems that Mio and Eita's feelings have remained unchanged, while Haruto seems to have set his eyes on the school band member, Hazuki Morikawa, who is, in turn, too clueless to realize Haruto's true feelings.
An afternoon group date at the Enoshima Aquarium has served as a good start for the four of them, along with Hazuki's best friend, Yoriko Inui, to bond and even put up their own group chat on LINE. But while this newly formed friendship promises to be a very friendly and supportive environment, secrets from the past are still hanging in the air, and may soon threaten this bond.
Can romantic feelings really take a backseat in favor of keeping it safe with friendship instead? Will Haruto ever find the courage to finally confess to Hazuki at his own phase, or will Yoriko, who has easily caught on, serve to either support or foil his intentions?
How long can Mio and Eita look on until their own true feelings become too much to bare and keep hidden?
