'Justice League' News, Release Date: Superman Joins the League in New Chinese Posters

A new set of posters promoting "Justice League" in China has emerged recently, bringing Superman (Henry Cavill) into the mix. Previous posters for the upcoming film by DC and Warner Bros. rarely included Cavill's character, sparking rumors that he might have actually died in "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice."

"Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" ended without confirming the fate of the Man of Steel. However, some fans claim that the final shot of the film teased the resurrection of the superhero. When it was confirmed that Superman would appear in "Justice League," many took it as a confirmation that he was actually alive, although some are still puzzled as to why Superman is not highlighted in most of the major promo materials for the film.

Earlier this week, Warner Bros. dropped a new batch of posters to promote "Justice League" to their Chinese audience. Luckily for Superman's fans, the superhero is featured with the rest of the team. This is rare, considering that since marketing activities for "Justice League" started, Superman has only appeared in the ancillary promo materials but never in the major trailers or posters for the film.

The new posters show the heroes in two-toned silhouettes, except for Batman (Ben Affleck). Cyborg's (Ray Fisher) silhouette is black with red accents, Wonder Woman's (Gal Gadot) is red and yellow, Flash's (Ezra Miller) is red and blue, and Aquaman's (Jason Momoa) is green with teal. Superman, who has never appeared in previous promotional materials for the film, is in a blue and red silhouette.

Although it has been confirmed that Superman will actually join the league in the upcoming film, it remains to be seen whether he will actually fight alongside the other heroes in the final conflict. There are speculations that at some point, he will go up against his own team, but that remains to be seen.

"Justice League" hits theaters on Nov. 17.
