'Justice League: Part 1' Movie News: Zac Snyder Works with Fabian Wagner as Film's Cinematographer
After having collaborated with cinematographer Larry Fong for many of his movies, including "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," Zack Snyder now works with Fabian Wagner as his new cinematographer, starting with the upcoming "Justice League: Part 1," which has already commenced its filming in a London studio.
Wagner has impressive cinematographic works under his belt, including the popular HBO series "Game of Thrones" and Da Vinci's "Demons." While it is true that many credited Fong for his awesome work in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," the news of Wagner replacing him is also welcomed by many DC and Justice League fans.
Now that Wagner is onboard "Justice League: Part 1," fans can only hope that DC's biggest ensemble of superheroes in a movie will deliver fans' expectations and will do better than the currently showing "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," not just in terms of cinematography but in terms of telling the story on the whole.
It was previously reported that Warner Bros. will be more hands on now with DC superhero films, especially those with overarching storyline, such as "Justice League: Part 1." Reportedly, the move is to make sure that the upcoming movies will be more fun and entertaining, not too dark like "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," which has been heavily criticized for being too serious and devoid of humor.
During the promotion of "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" some weeks ago, Synder hinted about what the fans can expect from the upcoming "Justice League: Part 1":
"… And it's an intense, awesome, and gigantic undertaking because Bruce [Wayne] is having to go out and sort of 'Seven Samurai' the Justice League together, which is fun. It's slightly monumental, and at the same time they're starting to grapple with this coming threat," he said.
However, with Snyder helming the creative aspects of the film overall, some fans can't help being skeptic as to how different the upcoming "Justice League" movie will be from his previous works, including "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," with some pointing that he may be good at visuals but is not skilled in terms of pulling off a complicated story.
