'Justice League: Part One' News: J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon
After the hype of DC's movie "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," there has been a lot of anticipation regarding the upcoming film "Justice League: Part One."
Fans have been waiting to see the formation of the iconic league of superheroes in the DC Extended Universe. The previously released film, "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" teased their presence as it premiere several characters of the league.
While there has yet to be any official details regarding the plot of the upcoming film, there has been much talk about who will be joining the cast of "Justice League: Part One." It was confirmed that J.K. Simmons will be taking on a role in the upcoming film.
Simmons will debut the role of Commissioner Gordon in the upcoming film. The actor recently spoke to Collider about his upcoming role, stating that he is looking forward to learn more about the character. He said, "I can't say that I don't have some impression of that character in my head that's based on what I saw, but I'm not planning on going back and watching any of the other films. I'm just planning on learning as much as I can about him through the comics and getting my feet wet in the first movie, and then hopefully continuing on from there."
Meanwhile, another big name was said to be joining the project. It was speculated that Willem Dafoe will be taking on a role in the upcoming "Justice League: Part One," Hofmag reports. While there has yet to be any official announcement, it was suggested that he will be playing a protagonist role in the film.
There are rumors saying that he could be portraying a role related to Aquaman. He could be playing an Atlantean in the upcoming film, which will put him along side Aquaman, played by Jason Mamoa. However, there has yet to be any confirmation.
"Justice League: Part One" is expected to hit theaters on Nov. 17, 2017.
