Justin Bieber in Space: Singer Books Flight With Manager

Justin Bieber is apparently headed to space with his manager, Scooter Braun. Virgin Galactic founder Richard Branson made the informal announcement via Twitter, though Bieber has yet to confirm the trip.

"Great to hear @justinbieber & @scooterbraun are latest @virgingalactic future astronauts. Congrats, see you up there!" Branson tweeted.

While Bieber did not make any formal announcement or confirm the tweet, he did re-tweet it to his followers. Branson did the same for his own followers but added the message, "I'm going to space momma!"

Bieber, 19, has always been fascinated by space and once tweeted, "I wanna do a concert in space."

"Maybe we can help you with that," NASA quickly replied.

Virgin Galactic is the only commercial airline to offer trips beyond the traditional stratosphere. Tickets cost $250,000, but that has not stopped several celebrities from booking a flight aboard SpaceShipTwo. Leonardo DiCaprio already has a seat claimed.

Other celebrities rumored to have their own tickets are Tom Hanks, Victoria Principal, Ashton Kutcher, and Stephen Hawking. There's no word yet on when any of these trips to space may happen, though Virgin Galactic is hopeful that a suborbital flight could take place by the end of 2013.

According to Virgin Galactic's website, those who book a flight become part of an exclusive club of over 600 future astronauts. They are given "priority access" to Virgin Galactic events, which in the past have included G-force training, celebrations of milestones in flight, and special travel options.

The airline promises that after the flight, "you know that life will never quite be the same again."

While many fans are excited to see the legend head into space and realize a dream, there are those who are having a bit of fun at his expense.

"I heard @JustinBieber is going to space on Virgin Galactic!" tweeted Ellen DeGeneres. "That explains those shiny black outfits. They must be part of his spacesuit."

"Apparently Justin Bieber is going to be blasted into space. Dreams really can come true… Bum, he's also coming back," joked Ryan Davis.
