'Juuni Taisen' Episode 3 Spoilers: Chicken to Go Berserk in Next Installment; Who Is Rat?

Something's up with the silver-haired young man who is in the war representing the sign of Rat. What mystery does his identity hold on the Japanese action anime series, "Juuni Taisen"?

The twelfth Zodiac War has begun in rather interesting fashion, what with the most harmless looking participants turning the most unexpected leaf. It turned out that the one who shattered the floor in the premiere episode was actually the self-proclaimed pacifist, Monkey, who was even trying to turn the war into an affair where no one had to die, before slyly taking an action to get the battles started.

It's a good thing that Rat is perceptive enough to know that there's more to Monkey than what meets the eye. But he also seems to be quite an intriguing character himself, with almost all the other participants somehow getting a sense of déjà vu after seeing his face.

Viewers of the series are wondering if it's really Rat that the participants are remembering or someone else who was related to him. Rat's appearance seems to suggest that he's quite young to have participated in the previous war, which happened twelve years ago. Then again, he may also just look young for his real age.

Everybody's gradually showing their true colors, and the war has truly turned into an affair where the participants can never trust anybody else.

Dog has already been put out of commission, Boar is a walking undead, and Chicken may have just been turned into a mindless fighting machine. Which trait will ultimately win in the end: brute force, strong will, or the slyest mind?

"Juuni Taisen: Zodiac War" airs on Tuesdays at 11:30 p.m. JST on AT-X and late night at 2:30 a.m. JST on MBS.
