Kaley Cuoco Shows Support For Education Against Pit Bull Discrimination
"The Big Bang Theory" star Kaley Cuoco publicly showed her support for animal rights advocacy that ends discrimination against pit bulls and similar types of dog breeds.
On her Instagram account, the 31-year-old actress posed with her boyfriend Karl Cook and their dog Norman to express their support for Rebecca Corry's Angel of SUFP Foundation while wearing a matching t-shirt showing a dog's face with the word "Educate" written underneath.
According to the actress, she and her equestrian boyfriend will always support any efforts to educate humans regarding the animal rights, Breed-specific legislations (BSL), as well as discrimination against pit bulls. She also told her social media followers that they can also purchase the t-shirt that they are wearing on bonfire.com, where all proceeds will go straight to animal rescue efforts.
Cuoco is known for being a dog adoption advocate, since her famous pooch Norman was adopted when he was just about two-years-old.
In an interview with Los Angeles Times, Cuoco mentioned that those who dump their senior dogs at an animal shelter infuriates her. "It makes me sick," Cuoco stated. "They act like dogs are trash. They act like dogs are a water bottle that you just throw away."
She also mentioned why she likes fighting for the welfare of pit bulls despite their negative reputation even before she met Norman, saying that she is obsessed with the breed. "I just found them to be so incredible. I realized what great dogs they were, and how horribly they were seen. And I just didn't want that to happen anymore. So it became a passion," she also said.
Aside from her support for Angel of SUFP Foundation, the actress is also known for supporting Paw Works. It is an organization that helps look for temporary and permanent homes for abandoned pets in Los Angeles. She also opened her own home to foster these animals from time to time.
