Kandi Burruss Reveals Origin of Mother's Issues With Fiance Todd Tucker and Real Housewives of Atlanta Star's Relationship
Kandi Burruss is revealing why she believes her mother Joyce does not want to bless the union with she and fiance Todd Tucker.
Fans will witness the singer-songwriter's mother speak out against her union with television producer tucker during the throughout the course of "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" season six. However, Burruss, 37, believes that her mother began disliking her fiance after watching The Wendy Williams talk show.
"I can tell you when it started. Last year when Wendy Williams was commenting on our show every week and she was like, '[Todd's] an opportunist," Burruss told ABC News radio recently. "I think he's an opportunist.' Next thing I know, my momma comes back and is like, 'Wendy said that he was an opportunist.'"

The fact that her mother does not approve of the nuptials has hindered the wedding planning process for Burruss.
"I haven't decided yet if I want something that's small and just us or if we wanted to do something bigger and invite people. What was stopping me from even planning is the fact that my mom is not being supportive," she told ABC News radio. "It's like, okay do I really want to have a wedding and my mom may not show up or if she does show up she's going to be mean and negative? You know, you don't want the bad energy either."
Burruss has created a play loosely based on her life with Tucker and her own mother's issues accepting the union. Aside from Burruss, the play's stars include singers Eddie Levert, Shirley Murdock and D. Woods of Danity Kane, according to kandionline.com.
Burruss recently spoke about the theme of her play, which is slated to premiere at Atlanta's Rialto Theater from November 22-24th.
"When it comes to relationships and things, mothers-not just my mother-have a problem letting to. It's inspired by my relationship with my mother," she told Fox Atlanta about the play. "It goes through the tough times. Obviously, at the end, it's a wonderful happy ending."
