Kansas City Chiefs vs Indianapolis Colts Live Stream Free: Watch NFL Playoffs 2014, AFC Wild Card Football (NBC TV Schedule)
The Indianapolis Colts will host the Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday afternoon in their Wild Card game as the NFL 2014 Playoffs get underway. The Chiefs must not allow their Week 16 blowout to the Colts affect them today, and it is win or go home this time around. The game will start at 4.35 p.m. ET and can be watched on TV on the NBC network, or online through free live stream (details below).
The Chiefs' Week 16 home loss to the Colts is still fresh in everyone's minds, but there are many reasons to believe that this one will be a much closer encounter than that 23-7 game.
The Chiefs were uncharacteristically bad in that game a few weeks back. They turned over the call four times, compared to forcing zero turnovers from the Colts. That is one of the main statistics that stand out as to why they suffered such a bad loss that day.
Through the regular season the Chiefs were much more efficient with the ball, and there is no reason to believe they will allow a repeat of that debacle today. They only turned the ball over more than two times in one other game all season long. Oppositely they also managed to force at least two turnovers from opposition teams in 10 of their previous 14 games going into that original Colts match up.
That coupled with the fact that the Chiefs allowed five sacks to the Colts in that Week 16 game, also reveals that their previous meeting most likely was just a bad day at the office for Kansas City.
Chiefs fans and players will be optimistic they cannot be as bad as that day this time around, and that means this should almost certainly be a closer affair.
However, the Colts will be confident that their tactics worked perfectly on that day against their Chiefs. They will want to replicate that performance today. They will be thinking that even if they cannot manage to completely wipe the floor with the Chiefs like that Week 16 game, they are playing at home this time around as well, meaning they have the clear advantage.
The Colts will recognize though that the Chiefs' offensive line looks very different today than it did a few weeks back. Right tackle Eric Fisher is likely to be out, which means Donald Stephenson would step up from left tackle, and Branden Albert would get a run out.
Many fans have believed Fisher should have been benched long ago, and he has definitely struggled at times this season. If Stephenson and Albert do get the nod, then many Kansas City fans will believe they have a stronger unit on the field today than in Week 16.
If the Chiefs can eradicate the errors they suffered in that shock Week 16 loss, then they will be right in the mix for today's game. Expect a close one, and a perfect game to kick start this year's postseason calendar.
