The man was asked to wait while the station's news director Jon Janes was contacted. Miles told Janes that he was upset at the way the VA was treating him and handling his case. At that same time Janes told Miles that he should talk to the VA and explained that there was nothing that he could do at the present time.

With that answer the man left the building only to return minutes later agitated and aggressive. Police indicated that when Miles returned he threw a lamp at the glass front doors, shattering them. Employees were directed to get out of the front office area.

Several moments later employees tackled that man near an exit. Police said that while the group was struggling to subdue Miles he pulled out a knife and stabbed Sales Manager Roger Brokke in the leg and also cut sales associate Greg Palmer on the leg. Brokke was also bitten on the ear by the man.

The employees held Davis until police arrived police arrived who was heard screaming, "I'm going to f-----' kill you all!"

The two employees were taken to a local hospital where their injuries were described as non-life threatening.

Topeka Police Capt. Brian Desch stated the 48-year-old homeless Miles was arrested on several counts, including aggravated battery and burglary.
