Kanye West Accuser Wants Cash Settlement?

The man accusing Kanye West of battery has reportedly asked for a cash settlement in order to avoid a potential trial.

On Jan. 13 West, 36, allegedly attacked an 18-year-old man inside of a Beverly Hills chiropractor's office following a reported verbal assault on his fiance Kim Kardashian. The man, whose name has not been released to the public, reportedly had his lawyer contact West's legal team in recent days with the hopes of reaching a cash settlement, according to TMZ.com.

West is currently the subject of a battery investigation as the man insisted on pressing charges against the rapper immediately after the incident. The man reportedly wants to avoid a public trial and is insisting on a private settlement however insiders claim he did not sustain injuries during the alleged attack.

Kardashian's mother Kris Jenner recently spoke about the alleged assault during an interview with 2DayFM.

"I do know that how it started was that this person got really...a lot of racial, hateful, horrible things that he was saying," Jenner said as reported by Us magazine. "And I think that's where it started. I'm not quite sure how it ended, to be honest with you."

While the Grammy award-winning rapper has not publicly responded to settlement requests, critics believe a cash settlement may be in his best interests as he is already dealing with battery charges stemming from last year.

In October the rapper was formally charged with criminal battery and attempted grand theft for allegedly attacking a paparazzi photographer at LAX on July 19. Any potential new assault charges will not appear favorable in court.

Video footage of the alleged attack shows West lunging at Daniel Ramos, the paparazzi videographer, for being pushy and repeatedly asking questions despite the rapper's request that he "not speak." Shortly after West left the scene, police and paramedics arrived and Ramos was reportedly treated after sustaining injuries.

"Kanye shoved the photog to the ground and yelled at him after trying to take a few snaps," the photo agency claims as reported by RadarOnline.com.

If convicted in the alleged LAX assault, West faces up to 12 months in jail.
