Kanye West and Kim Kardashian News: Couple's Bel-Air Mansion Security Averts Robbery
Kanye West and Kim Kardashian were almost victims of a robbery attempt as the still unnamed culprit reportedly break into their Bel-Air mansion at early morning yesterday, Oct. 20.
According to TMZ, which reported the robbery attempt first, the robber ransacked three vehicles at the driveway of the couple's mansion. While the culprit failed to break into the mansion itself, he almost managed to steal an iPhone that belonged to one of West and Kardashian's staffers after trashing three cars.
"Nothing of Kim or Kanye's was taken. Their armed security handled it. The guy didn't even make it past the driveway. He was startled by their security, and dropped the phone he was trying to take," an insider told E!News.
Based on police reports, the burglar broke into West and Kardashian's mansion at 4 in the morning last Friday. While the security at the house spotted and chased him, he managed to escape.
However, it has been learned that the burglar did not only intend to rob West and Kardashian's place as he also headed to the couple's neighbor, comedian Kathy Griffin. There, he also trashed another car at the end of the driveway and got a purse that likewise belonged to a staffer.
The burglary attempt on West and Kardashian's mansion is the second case of celebrity burglary case this week. In a separate report, E!News claims that the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) responded to a reported burglary that targeted Mariah Carey's Beverly Hills mansion between 10 p.m. last Wednesday and 7 a.m. on Thursday.
According to LAPD, the culprits entered through a window of the singer's mansion, and, unlike in the case of West and Kardashian's robber, succeeded in stealing $50,000 worth of handbags and sunglasses.
Carey is said to be in New York when the incident happened, and the house was reportedly unmanned when the burglars broke in.
