Kanye West, Jay-Z Close to Ending Their Bitter Feud

Kanye West has reportedly reached out to Jay-Z in an effort to mend their broken friendship.

Citing sources close to the rappers, TMZ reports that West requested a face-to-face meeting with Jay-Z. The rapper has extended the olive branch to his former friend to hash out the feud that started when West targeted Jay-Z, his wife Beyoncé and daughter Blue Ivy.

Jay-Z previously said he had no issue with West attacking him. He only fought back when his family got involved — calling out West in the new song "Kill Jay Z." People who work with West believe Jay-Z should cut the 40-year-old some slack since he went on the rant shortly before he was rushed to the hospital.

If the sit-down between the two rap icons ever happens, BET notes it will not be a short conversation. Although the two have had major problems in the past, Jay-Z said West's recent outburst greatly affected him.

"Kanye's my little brother. He's talked about me 100 times. He made a song called Big Brother. We've gotten past bigger issues but you brought my family into it, now it's a problem ... That's a real real problem," he said in an interview.

Chicago-born West started his career in the rap industry when he was discovered by Jay-Z. The New York rap king also served as his mentor for several years until he finally made a name of his own. West also worked as a producer for Jay-Z's Rock-A-Fella Records before he was signed as a rapper in the same company.

Tensions between the two began when West upstaged Beyoncé and Taylor Swift during the 2009 VMAs. Since the incident, Jay-Z failed to show up at West's wedding with Kim Kardashian or even offer support during the rapper's hour of need.
