Kanye West Talks Values He Wants To Instill In North West
Kanye West is gushing about fatherhood in Interview magazine.
West, the 36-year-old rap mogul who is engaged to "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" star Kim Kardashian, is opening up to "12 Years A Slave" director Steve McQueen about his future wife and seven month old daughter, North West. He likened his new family to astronauts.
"You know, becoming famous is like being catapulted into space-sometimes without a space suit. We've seen so many people combust, suffocate, get lost in all these different things," West told McQueen in Interview magazine. "But to have an anchor of other astronauts and to make a little space family ... I mean, it's not like I'm the guy in The Hunger Games begging for people to like me. I'm almost the guy with the least amount of 'likes.'"

He spoke about the need to have a family and how God gave him just that.
"I wanted a family," he told McQueen. "So God gives you opportunities, and you make sacrifices for something that's greater."
While West is very outspoken, he is not quick to label his exact feelings about fatherhood. However, he does have an idea about the values he would like to instill in his daughter.
"I think I have to experience it for another few years to be able to give you an opinion. It's all brand new, how it feels to be a father," he said in Interview magazine. "The teachings and the confidence that was instilled by my grandfather into my mother, and from my mother into me-which will now, of course, be instilled by me into North-will create the best winter coat against doubters and dream-killers ever made."
West has been vocal about doing all he can to provide the best for his daughter.
"Me and Kim we on our grind. We had to do what we had to do to get to this point to be able to support our family, but we ain't there yet," he said last year while on "The Breakfast Club." "We ain't financially there to the point to make sure that North is safe at all times, and that's the reason why I'm turning it up right now."
