Karl Lagerfeld: Pippa Middleton Not a Beauty, 'Should Only Show Her Back'

Karl Lagerfeld's character has come under question after he has made subsequent insults about women's looks.

For the second time, Lagerfeld has made unwarranted comments about a woman's looks. This time his victim was Pippa Middleton, who he suggested had a nice back, but not much else. Lagerfeld's comments are often not only harsh, but shallow and fail to account for women as anything besides attractive or unattractive.

First, the Channel designer, who has also worked with brands like Diesel and H&M, called Adele fat.

"The thing at the moment is Adele. She is a little too fat, but she has a beautiful face and a divine voice," he told Metro in February.

For some, the comment suggested that Adele's voice and image suffered because she did not fit in to Lagerfeld's ideal size. His latest remarks concerned Kate Middleton and her sister Pippa.

"Kate Middleton has a nice silhouette and she is the right girl for that boy," Lagerfeld told The Sun recently, referring to Prince William. "I like that kind of woman, I like romantic beauties."

As for Pippa Middleton, the fashion guru was much less kind and suggested that she would be better off to not show her face at all.

"On the other hand, her sister struggles. I don't like the sister's face. She should only show her back," Lagerfeld added.

Many have criticized Lagerfeld and his character after making such comments.

"Very ugly, petty and shallow comments," Karen Rosenberg said on the Huffington Post. "He seems to have a love/hate relationship with women - his statements show a lack of character."

"Well, isn't little Karl just full of himself!" SpiderMom added. "Just because someone has become famous, for whatever reason, doesn't mean they should open their mouth and let every little word tumble out. How rude and uncalled for."
