Kaspersky Internet Security 2017 Review: Application Introduces New Valuable Functions Like Built-In VPN, Software Cleaner
Kaspersky is perhaps one of the world's leading anti-virus and cybersecurity companies, and this year's Internet Security application is only proving it. With its built-in Virtual Private Network feature and impressive protection scores, Kaspersky 2017 is wowing everyone.
According to PC Authority's review of the Internet Security application, Kaspersky 2017 was able to attain a perfect protection score on AV-Test.org after performing a series of tests. And if the 100 percent score is not enough to convince the public, the software is able to stand its ground against prevalent malware and other "zero-day" abuse.
The review compares it to last year's version, Kaspersky 2016, which also scored marvelously across the board. Not much has changed, except for the built-in Secure Connection VPN service. By utilizing this feature, users' online privacy will be shielded through the use of encryptions. The application re-routes all internet activity through a reliable third party, which, in turn, protects online privacy. In other words, monitoring of activity by other parties will be difficult as they will not be able to discern which websites are being visited. Of course, users have to make sure that their VPN is switched on.
Apart from that, there is a Software Cleaner feature, which is also new on Kaspersky 2017. This function can be found under "More Tools." What the Software Cleaner essentially does is it frees up disk space by getting rid of unwanted programs and applications.
However, the downside of Kaspersky 2017 is that its many functions may become overwhelming to some, especially those who are unfamiliar with how the application works. Additionally, the license only gives users a 200 MB encrypted data limit per day, which means VPN cannot be turned on all the time.
Users who are interested in acquiring Kaspersky 2017 can visit its website. Of course, prior to installing the application, users are encouraged to look through its system requirements page. There are a number of supported browsers available and there is a limitation when it comes to operating systems as it only runs on Windows.
