Kate Middleton Due Date: Baby Due 'Mid-July,' and Duchess Discusses Baby Names (VIDEO)

Kate Middleton has given more details about her due date to reporters on Thursday as she attended an event with husband Prince William for the Quarriers Stopover Project in Glasgow, Scotland.

The Duchess of Cambridge joked to reporters, "It's around mid-July, but apparently babies have their own agenda."

A Royal Family spokesperson has previously explained that Kate's baby is due sometime in July, however, the Duchess herself has given slightly more details by confirming the due date is in the middle of the month.

Middleton also spoke about potential baby names that the latest addition to the royal family could be given: "We have a short list for both [boy and girl] but it's very difficult. My friends keep texting me names."

During the Duchess' visit she was given various baby gifts by 17 year old Caitlin Tomalley, including a bonnet and a teddy bear, according to Us Weekly.

Kate told her: "It's very sweet of you, I'll keep it safe for the big day. I've been trying to knit and I'm really bad. I should be asking you for tips."

The royal couple were visiting Scotland on a two day tour, and attended the Emirates Arena, which is scheduled to be a venue for the Commonwealth Games in 2014.

Prince William as usual showed off his willingness to join in with those he was visiting, and he played a short game of field hockey with others. He said, "Catherine, who, you may have noticed, is limited a little in the sports she can play right now, has had to hold herself back from grabbing a tennis racket and challenging me to a full game. I am far too much of a gentleman to say who would win."

The visit also included a comical moment when a 4 year old girl Shona Richie asked the prince for a kiss. However, when he leaned in to give her a peck on the cheek she moved away. The prince laughed: "Oh, no! You see! Aw. Next time, Shona. Next time."

The little girl then seemed more confident in presenting Duchess Kate with a flower.
