Kate Middleton Due Date Wrong? William to Play Polo 100 Miles Away This Weekend

When exactly is Kate Middleton due? That seems to be the million-dollar question, especially now that Prince William has confirmed that he will be playing polo this weekend, which was reported to be the Royal due date.

William debated about whether to participate in the charity match at the Cirencester Polo Club, which is over 100 miles away from his home, but decided at the last minute to play.

"Initially his office said yes, then said no, and have now confirmed that he will be playing," a source told the Daily Mail. "I think he was torn as, clearly, he wants to be with his wife at such an important time, but was all too aware how much the event raises for charities he is passionate about."

Earlier in her pregnancy, Kate let it slip that she was due in mid-July, and other sources stated that she is due on July 13. Now that the date is so close, everyone is watching and waiting for the first sign of labor, and precautions are being taken by members of Kate's inner circle. William will travel to the polo match, but if Kate should go into labor, he will be escorted back by police, cutting the travel time in half.

Kate's mother, Carole, is also on standby and would be at her daughter's side until William could arrive. He has a private helicopter waiting for him at the Royal Air Force base where he works, and arrangements have been made with his colleagues to cover his shift when Kate goes into labor.

Kate, meanwhile, has been at home for the past several weeks, prepping for the new arrival in her own way. She has been seen shopping for last-minute necessities but has not made any formal appearances since going on maternity leave.

The Queen announced this week that William and Kate's child will have the official title of Prince or Princess of Cambridge once he or she is born.
