Kate Middleton Maternity Dress From TopShop: $55 Lovestruck Dress to Sell Out Fast (PHOTO)
Kate Middleton took to the shops last week, visiting London's TopShop, where she purchased a new maternity dress for just $55. It is now thought the dress will likely sell out fast as moms across the globe look to follow the Kate Middleton pregnancy look.
The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting her first child with second in line to the British throne, Prince William, later this year in July.
However, the royal mom-to-be still proved that she has an eye for a bargain by picking up the relatively modest dress from one of London's most recognized high street brands last week.
Middleton bought TopShop's Lovestruck Deirdre dress, which had what has been described as a "delicate spring sheath with a mandarin collar, a cross-over neckline, and a elasticized waist," by Us Weekly.
At just $55 it is thought that the Duchess' purchase will likely spark a massive wave of demand for the same dress across the globe, as pregnant mothers everywhere look to copy the royal trend-setter.
Lovestruck designer Erika Shaw has told Us Weekly: "It's so exciting that the Duchess of Cambridge bought one of my designs. I think it's great that Kate wears high street brands."
The news of Kate Middleton's purchase comes as Queen Elizabeth II was hospitalized on Sunday. The queen was taken to London's King Edward VII Hospital, where she is expected to stay for at least two days.
She was hospitalized "after experiencing symptoms of gastroenteritis" a palace spokesman has confirmed.
"She has been taken to hospital as a precautionary measure," the spokesman added.
London's King Edward VII Hospital is the same hospital that Kate Middleton was taken to in December when she suffered from severe morning sickness and dehydration.
According to health officials, Gastroenteritis is an infection that affects both the stomach and small intestine. Symptoms can include diarrhea, vomiting, abdominal pain and cramping. The virus can be contracted through the consumption of certain foods.
