Kate Middleton News: Duchess of Cambridge Is the Best-Dressed Woman of 2015, According to Survey

Kate Middleton has remained a significant fashion icon despite her absence from the limelight for the most part of this year. Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, has been voted as the best-dressed woman of the year, according to a poll in the United Kingdom.

The recent poll was conducted by Alicia Kay Style. It revealed that one in three people (33 percent) believes Kate to be the best-dressed woman of 2015. The duchess is followed by "This Morning's" presenter Holly Willoughby. Holly received one in five votes or 20 percent.

The survey results show that Kate is still a highly influential fashion figure. This means most people look up to her for style inspirations.

"Kate has become a fashion icon thanks to her classic style," Alicia Kite of Alicia Kay Style is quoted saying by Mirror. "She knows how to make the most of her wardrobe and reworks her existing outfits to make them appropriate for different occasions."

When Kate first entered mainstream fashion consciousness in 2011, Anna Wintour, editor-in-chief of American Vogue, said that the then newly crowned spouse of Prince William, as an important figure, would create huge interest in terms of what she wears. Wintour had spoken the truth as the duchess has since been in the news coverage not only for her royal responsibilities but for her fashion style as well.

With tasteful choices, she has been a mainstay in best-dressed lists since her marriage to Prince William. Her style is characterized as a mix of high-end and designer pieces.

Recently, she was seen in a casual, laid-back getup in the royal family's newest photo, which also served as their Christmas card. The photo, which featured Kate along with Prince William, Prince George, and six-month-old Princess Charlotte, was posted in the official Twitter account of Kensington Palace.

Prior to that, the duchess was also seen wearing a little red dress during a ceremony on Wednesday where she carried out her role as ambassador for the Air Cadets in a red number paired with a black belt and black buttons.
