Kate Middleton Nickname Revealed During Visit to Prep School

She may be called Your Highness or Duchess, but Kate Middleton went by another nickname when she was younger. "I was nicknamed Squeak just like my guinea pig," Middleton said at a visit to her prep school.

She and sister Pippa both attended the prestigious St. Andrew's school when they were children, and each girl had her own guinea pig. "There was one called Pip and one called Squeak because my sister was called Pippa and I was Squeak," she explained to a group of younger students.

"It is such a treat to be back here at St. Andrew's," the Duchess said. "I absolutely loved my time here; they were some of my happiest years, which makes it so incredibly special to be here today. In fact, I enjoyed it so much that when I had to leave, I told my mother that I was going to come back to be a teacher."

Of course, her life took quite a drastic turn when, in college, she met Prince William. The two had an on- and off-again relationship for several years before William proposed. After a blockbuster wedding, Kate and William may again be preparing for another change- welcoming a child into the family.

In addition to long-standing rumors and speculation, yet more evidence is piling up that the Duke and Duchess could be expecting. They are preparing to move into their final, residential home at Kensington Palace, the same residence that William's mother, the late Princess Diana, lived at.

"Kate is keen to put her stamp on the place with things she's bought on her travels," a source told Us Weekly. "She felt certain pieces would be nice 'when we have a bigger home.' A baby is the main reason for the move."

"They have been on such a high since getting married. It's time for the next step – Kate is hoping she and William can become parents in 2013. They want to bring a child up in a secure environment," the source added. Right now the couple live in a cottage, which does offer some security but certainly not the level provided by moving to Kensington.

One person close to Middleton said that she and William are preparing to make a "happy announcement" next month- perhaps in time for Christmas.
