Kate Middleton Pregnant? Couple 'Planning Announcement' Next Month, Friend Says

Could the news people have been anxiously awaiting finally be released next month? Kate Middleton and Prince William could be making an announcement regarding their possibly expanding family sometime soon.

The couple has said they would make an announcement about any pregnancy when they felt the time was right and Middleton was far enough along to do so. A source close to Middleton told New Idea magazine the couple is ready to finally share "wonderful, happy news" next month.

"They're planning to make an announcement in December," Jessica Hay said. It would come at the perfect time, with the end of the Queen's Jubilee celebration and the holiday season. William and Kate have spoken about starting their own family and are excited for children, as is the rest of the country.

William's service with the Royal Air Force is coming to a close as he begins preparing for his life as a full-time royal. Immediately after his wedding to Kate, the couple was able to make a life of their own away from the glare of the paparazzi and have maintained normalcy throughout their first year of marriage.

William is, of course, next in line to the British throne after his father, Prince Charles. There are some who believe that Charles should abdicate his role and hand the reigns over to William, but that is highly unlikely, especially if William is concentrating on family life.

One thing that will be different with the children William and Kate produce is that no matter whether male or female, the children will have the opportunity to inherit the throne. Previously, women were not allowed to ascend to the throne if there were men in the family.

There has been much speculation of a possible Middleton pregnancy, but with a known friend coming forward, the odds of an announcement appear a little more substantial. The whole world will have to wait until next month, or perhaps longer, to learn if the claims are finally true.
