Kate Middleton, Prince William Obtain Passport for Baby George Ahead of World Tour

Kate Middleton and Prince William recently obtained a passport for their newborn son, George Alexander Louis, ahead of their first international royal tour as a family, reports claim.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge welcomed the birth of their son on July 22 and at just nine weeks the newborn has been given his very first passport in preparation for a 2014 royal tour of Australia and New Zealand. The royal couple are believed to have spent $76 for the passport which reportedly features the baby's full title as George Alexander Louis of Cambridge, according to The Mirror UK.

"We are all very hopeful of coming to Australia next year," William told guests at the Anglesey show in Wales on Aug. 14.

The trip will mirror the late Princess Diana and Prince Charles' 1983 trip to Australia which marked a then nine-months-old William's first trip abroad. Prior to the trip Queen Elizabeth II first had to give permission for William, now 31, to travel on the same plane as his father as royal protocol dictates an heir and the next in line must not fly together.

John Key, who is the prime minister of New Zealand, reportedly met with both Middleton, 31, and William during a recent stay with the Queen at her Summer residence, Balmoral in Scotland. It was there that the Duchess reportedly expressed her desire to visit the Kiwi nation.

"Yes we discussed with them, obviously they'd be most welcome to pay a visit. Obviously that's subject to their diary," Key told reporters.

"I know that the Duchess is very keen to come to New Zealand," he continued "She hasn't been before, the Duke's been on a number of occasions. So hopefully he'll return some time soon."

The news follows reports that the royal couple is already trying for baby no. 2. Middleton is said to be hoping to get pregnant by Christmas.

"William and Kate are very keen to start trying for baby No. 2. They'd be thrilled if Kate were pregnant by Christmas," a source told Life & Style magazine.

"William and Kate will be splitting their time during the holidays with Kate's family and the queen in Sandringham House in Norfolk, so it would be the perfect moment for an announcement," the source explained.
