Kate Middleton Unhappy With $1 Million Kensington Palace Renovation? Color Scheme 'Horrible'
Kate Middleton is reportedly unhappy with the end result of renovations on her and Prince William's Kensington Palace home after having spent in excess of $1 million.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are reportedly in the process of redecorating their four-story 20-room apartment and recently sought the help of famed architectural and urban designer, Ben Pentreath. Middleton, who moved in with William in October last year, reportedly chose the color scheme while she was still pregnant with baby George Alexander Louis and now has regrets.
"She tried to do the revamp cheaply with the builders who did the kitchen, and she got Dulux paints to match the Farrow & Ball color palette to save money," a source told Daily Mail U.K.

"But she wasn't happy with the result, and one room came out with a horrible, unexpected purple tinge. She's blaming it on her hormones before the birth," the source added.
The large family home boasts five reception rooms, three main bedrooms, dressing rooms and bathrooms, staff bedrooms and "ancillary rooms."
While the royal couple spent upwards of $1 million of taxpayer money on "essential structural work," they will cover the costs of interior decorating privately.
"The cost of any interior decorating and furnishing would be covered privately by the Royal Family,"
A Kensington Palace spokesman said adding that the $1 million of public money was spent on "essential structural work that needed to be completed by whoever moved into the buildings."
This is not the only property that the royal couple are currently renovating. Their Anmer Hall country residence in Norfolk is also undergoing changes.
The home, which was reportedly given to the royal couple by the Queen, boasts a swimming pool, 10 bedrooms and a tennis court.
Middleton, 32, and William, 31, will reportedly split their time between their main residence at Kensington Palace and Anmer Hall as they adjust to their new lives with baby George.
