Katie Holmes and Robin Thicke Dating?

Is Katie Holmes dating Robin Thicke?

"The Giver" actress is now allegedly seeing the newly divorced "Blurred Lines" singer, according to reports.

"She dropped him an email recently to see how he was, knowing he was going through divorce hell," a source told New Idea. "They've arranged a date in New York after his tour ends this month. Everyone's encouraging this as they have so much in common and if anyone can get him over Paula, it's Katie."

The report further details how the 35-year old actress allegedly bonded with the singer on the set of "Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol" back in 2010, while their partners at the time Tom Cruise and Paula Patton were shooting scenes together.

Holmes and Cruise split in 2012, while Thicke and Patton called it quits last February.

However, an insider close to Holmes told Gossip Cop that this was untrue, and that the actress was reportedly confused as to how this rumor started.

The "Dawson's Creek" alum has been previously linked with Jamie Foxx and "The Giver" co-star Alexander Skaarsgard, but all these dating rumors have never been confirmed.

Instead, the actress is focusing on being a mother to her daughter Suri and is equally intent on reviving her acting career, starting with "The Giver" -- her performance got rave reviews from critics.

"She is so good in this," said "The Giver" author Lois Lowry. "I can't imagine how they thought of her in casting it because it's completely alien to her normal image. But that's the brilliance of the casting: It's beautiful, warm, loving Katie Holmes, and she's chilling."

Holmes is also focusing on making her directorial debut. She is set to star and direct "All We Had," which is an adaptation of Annie Weatherwax's book of the same title.

Holmes is set to play the mother in a drama about a down-on-her-luck woman and her daughter who find a home in a small town in America. The script will be penned by "The Fault in Our Stars" scriptwriter Josh Boone and produced by Jane Rosenthal along with Holmes and Berry Walsh.

"I am very excited and honored to be collaborating with Jane and Josh on this project and look so forward to bringing Annie's incredible characters to the screen," Holmes told CBS.
