Katie Holmes Tweets a Dig at Tom Cruise?

Actress Katie Holmes is creating headlines after posting a tweet that may or may not be a slam against ex-husband Tom Cruise. The Tweet comes during a significant time for Cruise, who was just deposed in a suit against the Church of Scientology, the organization he belongs to.

"The real struggle begins when you have to contend against a part of your own self," Holmes tweeted, citing a quote from French novelist Andrew Maraux. "Up to that point, it's all plain sailing. Yet it's only from such inner conflicts that a real man emerges."

Cruise and Holmes had a quick divorce after she left him and took daughter Suri with her. Rumors flew that Cruise's involvement with the Church of Scientology had something to do with the separation. Until recently, though, they were just rumors. Yet during Cruise's deposition, he admitted that his beliefs may have played a part in the divorce.

"Like with any relationship, there are many different levels to it," Cruise told prosecutors. "You know I, I find it very offensive.

There is no need to protect my daughter from my religion."

"And Ms. Holmes has never indicated in any way that was one of the reasons she left you? To protect Suri from Scientology?" a lawyer asked.

"Did she say that? That was one of the assertions, yes," Cruise responded.

Holmes and Cruise have not had any contact with one another since the divorce; Holmes currently resides in New York City, while Cruise frequently travels for work. He still manages to find time to spend with Suri, often flying her to his location and planning special father-daughter days.

Even though Holmes has not spoken publicly about the divorce, it seems that this Tweet could be a particular dig at Cruise and his actions during the divorce and even the deposition.
