Katy Perry Reached Out to Russell Brand After John Mayer Split?
Katy Perry reportedly reached out to her ex-husband Russell Brand after her recent split from John Mayer.
The pop singer, 28, is believed to have confided in Brand, 37, regarding her heart break. The pair divorced in 2011 but has maintained a "civil" and seemingly platonic friendship.
"Russell may appear like a comic book character, but he's got a wise head on his skinny shoulders," a source told RadarOnline.com.

"Katy reached out to him after she split with John, bemoaning her luck with men and Russell provided her with some much-needed reassurance," the source continued.
Mayer, 35, recently confirmed his split from Perry, whom he dated on-and-off for less than one year.
During an appearance on the "Ellen [DeGeneres]" show the singer said that their relationship simply became too difficult and while this is said to have hurt Perry, Brand has reportedly helped by cheering her up.
"[Russell] flattered her with compliments and just listened to her every word. Russell also used his wit to cheer Katy up," the source explained.
"They were the best of friends when they were together, and despite the fact they are no longer married they've managed to stay civil to one another," the source went on.
Perry and Brand, who is a British comedian, reportedly split over her reluctance to settle down and have children right away. Critics are now speculating whether the "Wide Awake" singer may be regretting their divorce.
"She's very respectful of Russell's reasons for their break-up and would never overstep the line by begging for him to come back," the source revealed.
"But she does, however, think that he was definitely the love of her life. It's left a lot of people wondering if she thinks that she could have fought harder to save their marriage," the source added.
Insiders claim Mayer's alleged insecurities began to pose problems in his relationship with Perry.
"He's very defensive and comes across as extremely jealous of her career," a source linked to Perry reportedly told People magazine.
