Robert Pattinson Girlfriend Rumors About Katy Perry Resurface After John Mayer Split

Katy Perry is reportedly leaning on friends following her recent split from John Mayer and while the singer has been spending more time with Robert Pattinson, they are said to be just friends.

In January the "Roar" singer, 29, split from Mayer, 36, after dating on and off for two years and friends like Pattinson have been offering emotional support ever since. A source claims Perry and Pattinson are growing closer which has raised questions about a potential romance.

"Rob and Katy have never stopped being in touch she loves the attention," a source told Heat magazine UK.

"The texting stepped up in January when things started going bad between Katy and John. Rob's been a real shoulder for her to cry on," the source explained. "Since he's been single, though, the texts have hotted up... they're always flirty."

Pattinson, who split from actress Kristen Stewart in May last year, is currently filming his latest movie "Life" in Canada. Meanwhile Perry has been busy promoting her upcoming Prismatic world tour, which kicks off in May.

"He's in Toronto filming and they've even planned for her to make a secret trip to see him," the insider revealed.

Last year Perry denied reports claiming she and the British actor, 27, are more than friends during an interview with Elle magazine UK.

"Okay, so here's the proof there was never anything going on with me and Robert Pattinson … I fart in front of him," the pop star told Elle.

"Properly fart. And I never, ever fart in front of a man I am dating. That's a rule," she continued. "He's my bud, I'm like his big sister. We just hang out. The other day, I said, 'One of the things I'm most proud of is not sleeping with you, Robert.' And that's true."
