Katy Perry Vogue: Singer 'Still Madly in Love' With John Mayer After Split

Katy Perry recently opened up about her on-and-off boyfriend John Mayer and ex-husband Russell Brand in an interview with Vogue magazine.

The pop star, 28, landed her first ever Vogue cover for the publication's July issue and the singer looks radiant dressed in an off-the-shoulder, floral print Rodarte dress. Perry was asked about her widely publicized love life which includes her relationship with Mayer, who is a troubled rock musician, and her 2011 divorce from Brand, a British comedian.

Perry, who began dating Mayer, 35, in 2012, split up with the singer in March 2013. They are rumored to have rekindled their relationship in recent weeks and Perry admitted that she is still "in love" with him.

"I was madly in love with him. I still am madly in love with him. All I can say about that relationship is that he's got a beautiful mind," Perry told Vogue regarding Mayer.

"Beautiful mind, tortured soul. I do have to figure out why I am attracted to these broken birds," she added.

The "Hot N Cold" singer also opened up about Brand, 38, whom she married in 2010 one year after they began dating.

"He's a very smart man, and I was in love with him when I married him. Let's just say I haven't heard from him since he texted me saying he was divorcing me December 31, 2011," Perry revealed.

"Hysterical in some ways. Until he started making jokes about me and he didn't know I was in the audience, because I had come to surprise him at one of his shows," she explained adding "So. Hysterical to a point."

Perry was evidently crushed when Brand filed to end their marriage after just 14 months and she was seen breaking down over the situation in her 2012 film "Katy Perry: A Part Of Me 3D."

"I mean, I have to claim my own responsibility in things. I do admit that I was on the road a lot. Although I invited him time and time again, and I tried to come home as much as I possibly could," she said "You saw that in the movie."

Initially Perry admits she felt a sense of guilt over the breakdown of her marriage however this changed after she discovered the "real" reason behind Brand's divorce filing.

"I felt a lot of responsibility for it ending, but then I found out the real truth, which I can't necessarily disclose because I keep it locked in my safe for a rainy day," she said.
