Kelly Clarkson Pregnant, Predicts Baby is a Girl

News just recently broke that Kelly Clarkson is pregnant with her first child, but the singer-actress is already predicting that that baby will be a girl. Clarkson and new husband Brandon Blackstock married only one month ago but are thrilled to be expecting.

"My eggs aren't getting any younger so we've already started trying," Clarkson told PARADE magazine. "I'm totally gonna have a girl. I'm manifesting it! And when I have a girl, you're gonna be like, 'That chick knew it!'"

Clarkson has made no secret of her desire to have children with Blackstock, son of Narvel Blackstock and the stepson of country icon Reba McEntire. Long before they married, Clarkson spoke fondly of Blackstock's children from another relationship.

"They're so great," she told ABC. "Granted, none of them are teenagers yet, so come back to me later. Savannah, the 12-year-old, is like, 'I want a little sister.' She's so excited."

"My mom was a hard mom; I'm probably that mom," she told Ryan Seacrest of her adventures in step-parenting. "I'm quick to go, 'I told you not to touch that!' We all live together and everything. It's so different, but it's perfect. They're awesome, and I actually really dig the mom thing."

Yet for Clarkson, motherhood may be a new challenge, given her upbringing.

"I didn't really grow up in a family environment," she told PARADE. "So I didn't understand it or know if I could do that properly."

However, she will have an experienced husband by her side and the support of his family, as well as the experience of being a stepmother to two children. And it's clear that Clarkson is very ready to be a mother.

"I'm pregnant!!! Brandon and I are so excited! Best early Christmas present ever!" the star tweeted via birth announcement. No word yet, though, on when baby Blackstock is due to make her (or his) arrival.
