Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom Latest News 2015: Former Lakers Star Reportedly Begging for Powerful Drugs for Pain
It's good to hear that Lamar Odom's condition has significantly improved over the past week with reports saying that the former Lakers star is already out of the intensive care unit and off the dialysis machine. But there is some brewing controversy, saying that the 35-year-old is actually "begging" his doctors to give him stronger drugs intended for pain management. One of those drugs is the Oxycontin — a controlled substance that is known to provide relief for severe pain.
The problem is that everyone knows about Odom's drug-related issues in the past, which put doctors with the big responsibility of granting or rejecting his appeal for those powerful drugs. Oxycontin for one is a well-known substance used for drug abuse.
Because of the request, several news outlets say that his soon-to-be ex-wife Khloe Kardashian has walked out on the basketball star, disappointed that Odom seems to be more concerned on going back to his old ways once again.
It was previously revealed that Odom and Kardashian decided to call off the divorce proceedings they previously filed for medical reasons, but with this latest development, it may well end up with the two eventually separating for good.
Some reports also claim that Kardashian was really disgusted that Odom insisted on the strong pain medicines and that she hasn't returned to the hospital for a week now, making Odom beg her to return. While she's away, she talks to Odom's doctors by phone.
The two-time NBA champion and 2011 Sixth Man of the Year took a deep dive with his drug abuse problems in early October when he was found unconscious in a Nevada brothel, apparently because of a drug overdose. The incident caused a media frenzy for weeks. While initial reports said that Odom was battling for his life, it has now been confirmed that he is recovering after being on life support. But this latest fiasco about the request of powerful drugs will again bring back the media frenzy.
