Khloe Kardashian-Odom Defends Lamar Odom's Career

Khloe Kardashian-Odom is speaking out against people who believe the 28-year-old reality television star is negatively affecting her NBA player husband's career.

Kardashian-Odom and her 33-year-old husband, NBA forward Lamar Odom, have starred on the reality television series "Khloe & Lamar." The reality television star who became known on "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" revealed that her husband was criticized as a professional athlete living his personal life in front of television cameras.

"..When my husband and I filmed season one, Lamar won Sixth Man of the Year, was the first (Los Angeles) Laker to do so, he won a gold medal, and he also won a championship ring for the Lakers," Kardashian-Odom told The Associated Press recently. "But the year he got traded, people wanted to say, 'Oh, it's because of the show.' So, I was really irritated."

While Kardashian-Odom revealed that she will bring the show back for another season, she also said her husband loved participating in it, despite what critics had to say.

"This is my husband's career, and I just didn't like that someone would use this tool in a negative way. . . . But, yes, it will hopefully come back sooner than later," Kardashian-Odom told AP. "Lamar loves doing the show."

Kardashian-Odom, who identifies as Christian and has thanked Jesus for blessing her, opened up about her spiritual life with her husband in a People magazine report.

"We are very spiritual and we say our prayers with each other every night. He will lead the prayers and it is so sweet," Kardashian-Odom told People last year. "Sometimes his plane will land in the next city [at 4 a.m.] and he will still call me and we say our prayers."

According to the reality television star, prayer has kept the couple together.

"If I'm asleep and don't answer he will text me a prayer," Kardashian-Odom revealed previously to People. "It keeps us together."
