Kim, Kanye Security Escape: Airport Lets Couple Skip TSA? (VIDEO)

An American Airlines worker is under fire after allowing a pregnant Kim Kardashian and her boyfriend, Kanye West, to bypass airport security and JFK.

Arriving in New York from Brazil, Kardashian and West were ushered past security on Tuesday morning so that the celebrity couple could catch their connecting flight to Los Angeles.

"An airline employee escorted the two travelers through a non-public area in order to provide expedited access to their domestic flight. In doing so, the airline employee violated security protocols by permitting the travelers to bypass the TSA security checkpoint," the Transportation Security Administration said in a statement to E! News.

But allowing special treatment of celebrity customers is a huge security no-no, officials said, resulting in a disastrous clean up as the airline attempted to mediate the situation. The Fflight was delayed over an hour, due in part to the situation.

"This was a lapse in judgment by one of our employees. We're working closely with the Transportation Security Administration and speaking to the individuals involved to better understand what happened," American Airlines told E! News in a statement.

People across the internet were in an uproar over the two celebs, believing that they had requested the special treatment.

"Wow. Kim has such an ego! She seriously thinks she is so big she can by pass Security!" one person complained on the E! blog.

But the TSA official who spoke, stated that it was not the fault of Kardashian and West.

"The spokesman said the employee was to blame – not Kardashian, 32, and West, 35," People magazine reported.

After bypassing security, both stars were allegedly pulled off the plane and forced to go through a second round of security screening, TMZ reported. Neither celebrity has released a statement regarding the issue.
