Kim Kardashian Scores Met Gala Invite Through Boyfriend Kanye West

Kim Kardashian has reportedly been invited to one of the biggest fashion events of the year and it is all thanks to her boyfriend Kanye West.

For years it has been claimed that Vogue Editor Anna Wintour, who hosts the $25,000 per ticket event, dislikes Kardashian, making it near impossible for the reality TV star to attend. This year West, who is a regular at the MET (Metropolitan Museum of Art) Gala, reportedly convinced Wintour to invite Kardashian, 31.

"Kanye West and Kim Kardashian will both be attending the Met Gala in NYC on May 6," a fashion insider told Life & Style magazine. "Because Kanye is performing he was allowed to invite her."

The elite event, which is hosted annually in New York City, attracts some of the biggest names in fashion and entertainment. Among last year's guests were singer Beyonce, actress Gwyneth Paltrow and supermodel Gisele Bundchen.

Kardashian, who is currently seven months along in her pregnancy, was reportedly snubbed from the 2012 Met Gala at Wintour's request. West, 35, attended alone.

"Anna hates Kim! Why would she be invited to the event? It is all the biggest stars in the world and Kim doesn't fit that bill at all," a source previously told Radar Online.

"The Met Gala is $25,000 a ticket, but Kim can't even buy her way in, Anna Wintour does NOT want her there!" the source added.

The report follows claims that Kardashian and West are expecting a child in June, contrary to what the reality star told NBC's Matt Lauer in a "Today" show interview. Kardashian previously told Lauer that she is due to give birth in July.

"She did lie to Matt Lauer because she wants privacy when she gives birth," a source told HollywoodLife.com. "She's due at the beginning of June, in the first five days."
